The company was born thanks to the huge love for sports cars of its founder - Bitstsarrini Giotto an engineer from Livorno. As a student, he began working at the research center of the Alfa Romeo company. Three years later he moved the Ferrari company where he participated in the development of GTD sport coupes model with a 3-liter Testa Rossa engine.
Together with Carlo Kitty he accepted the invitation of the ATS company In 1961 and built race car, but cooperation ended on that. A year later Bitstsarrini left ATS, and opened his own business. For the production of vehicles and engines, he founded a company in Autostar in Livorno, whose clients became the companies of Iso-Rivolta and Lamborghini. Bizzarrini produced V-shaped 12-cylinder engine by order.
In 1964, the firm became known as Societa Prototipi Bizzarini. By order from «Iso» and in cooperation with bodywork company of Bertone they assembled sports car models Iso Grifo A-3L and A-AP Grifo. The most interesting fact in the biography of Bizzarrini became his demonstrative break with the Iso-Rivolta, however the cars created by him were renamed from Grifo cars into the Bizzarrini Strada GT-5300. They had fiberglass bodies and were equipped with V8 engines with displacement of 5.4 l. and the capacity of 365 or 410 hp. Later appeared the convertible Spider-5300 and GT Sport racing with central power unit.
Since 1966, the company became known as "joint-stock company Bizzarrini." They manufactured a two-seater coupe GT Europe based on chassis FIAT-1500 car with 4-cylinder 1.9-liter Opel engine. After three years, the company has ceased its activity.
There appeared a small company «World Super Cars», in the U.S. in 1995 and D. Bizzarrini was one of its founders. The Company assembles expensive sports cars with engine capacity of 500 hp.
