Buick

David Dunbar Buick founded the automotive company «Buick Motor Car Company» in 1903.

The first car brand «Buick» appeared in 1903. The company was one of the first to join the GM concern in 1908, but it remained an independent entity. Successful design of Buick attracted the attention of American buyers. Proven record of sales - 8800 cars. Same year of 1908 they began production of the model 10 with 4-cylinder engine had a broad appeal. The first six-cylinder Buick appeared in 1914, and 8-cylinder - in 1931.

In the 30's the Buick model, along with Chevrolet and Pontiac have become symbols of American-style in the automotive industry. The model of 1934 was 66S and had a 100 hp new engine and independent suspension of front wheels. During the Second World War the company produced military equipment.

Now Department of «Buick» of General Motors is building the same type of relatively inexpensive, full-size front-wheel drive cars for the American middle class market.
