«Eagle» brand is known since the early twentieth century. In the mid 50's it was owned by two automaker companies - «Hudson» and «Nash». Because of problems of financial kind there took place their merging and transformation into the «American Motors Corporation» company. In the late 70's, this brand was bought by Renault in order to increase sales of French cars in the US. Renault attempt failed and, in the end, it was bought by the Chrysler Concern.
Chrysler, under the terms of the contract, was required to promote the French Eagle, manufactured by Renault at the Canadian branch in Ontario. It was about the most spacious of its time Renault-Eagle c three-liter engine MPI V-6. Chrysler did not hurry with the sale of other brand's cars and poorly performing contractual obligations. «Renault» concern tried to terminate the contract, but various legal conflicts have led to the situation where neither first nor the second companion could use this brand.
In the 80s the active and aggressive Japanese were able to buy the brand and establish Mitsubishi sale in the US. Specifically for this purpose the model of Mitsubishi Eclipse was sold in the U.S. under the name of Eagle Talon. Replicas of many models of Chrysler were manufactured under the brand name of Eagle.
By the end of the 90s of the last century the demand for cars fell down and Eagle Brand, unfortunately, ceased to exist.
