Mini introduced the most powerful and fastest model in it's history. Mini showed hatchback, that was named "John Cooper Works GP" on French racetrack "Paul Ricard".
Note, that Mini has released yet a model with the name "John Cooper Works", which has the 1.6-liter (211 hp) engine under the hood. But the car with additional letters "GP" has a power of 220-230 hp. Exact figures are not known yet, as well as dynamic characteristics - apparently, Mini still continue to work on fine-tuning of the model.
However, British says, that "Mini John Cooper Works GP" is faster than such models as the Ford Focus RS, Jaguar XKR and Audi S5, which are much more powerful engines. Tests were conducted on the famous race track - Nurburgring. Ostensibly a small Mini can pass the "North Loop" for only 8.23 minutes.
It is planned to build 2,000 such machines.
